The SmartYard research project, coordinated by Møreforsking Molde, aims to digitize project planning and control in Norwegian shipbuilding. The integration of augmented reality, digital information assistance systems and the concept of Operator 4.0 are key to the desired process improvements in production. This enables the employees to use the information of the project planning with an optimal availability and easily understandable presentation form. In a work package on "Enabling optimal work processes through digital visualization solutions", the IPMT is developing and testing a digital information assistant (DIA), which implements the visualization of information using augmented reality as a core component. To this end, potential use cases are first identified in an analysis of the actual processes at the project partners, using the productivity measurement methods developed at the IPMT. Based on the findings of previous research projects, one focus is on the information flows within the direct production areas as well as to the indirect areas.
