Optimum layout design is an important factor that must be addressed before allocating spaces for defferent departments in any factory. Is there any software that can be used for this purpose? Factories normally have only ground floor with large open space. Office building or hospital type organizations have multi-storied. Need software for both of these purposes. Open source or paid/trial etc.
Want to check survey data/feedback collected from different stakeholders by survey regarding our undergraduate program. What factors should we consider about sample size, the reliability of data collected or result obtained by the survey? Each question has five options like strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree and strongly disagree. We have around 20 faculty members, roughly 20 nonacademic staff, 120 ug students, approximately 500 alumni and many employers. Usually, it is tough to get feedback from the employer within a short period.
We have many different algorithms for map building and localizing a mobile robot in 2D space. In case of 3D space (open) to fly ariel vehicle, we use GPS to know the location longitude, latitude, altitude, etc. However, GPS is not suitable for the closed environment. Sometimes environment with many building or cloudy atmosphere is not suitable for using GPS. How can we localize (know the X, Y, Z coordinates) for Ariel vehicle in a closed environment?
We have been using many traditional machine tools such as lathe machine, drilling machine, shaper machine, etc. in our machine shops. These machines are standalone without any integration with any central computer system or integration with each other. However if we can integrate them with a computer system that will continuously monitor the performance/utilization, maintenance related issues, and help in scheduling them, we will get the massive benefit of advanced machine tools with least investment. So what are the ways we can make these machine a little bit intelligent (?) that will help us in our traditional machine shop? Can IoT/similar technology help us in this case?
