Introduction
I received the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (First Class Honors) degree from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2015. I was a PhD Candidate at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. At the moment, I'm working as a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna. My research interests mainly focus on Air Traffic Flow Management, Optimization methods, Stochastic Programming, and Communication Systems.

Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) are characterized by absence of fixed infrastructure for communication and dynamic network topology. Software Defined Vehicular Network (SDVN) is a new paradigm which enhances programmability and flexibility in VANETs. However, we find that there is no proper mechanism to gather data for the hybrid architecture of...
Vehicular Adhoc networks (VANETs) are a key component of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) which necessarily consists of a wireless network of mobile vehicles. SDVN (Software Defined Vehicular Network) is a new paradigm which enables programmability and flexibility in vehicular networks formed by applying Software Defined Networking (SDN)...
A Software Defined Vehicular Network (SDVN) is a new paradigm that enhances programmability and flexibility in Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs). There exist different architectures for SDVNs based on the degree of control of the control plane. However, in vehicular communication literature, we find that there is no proper mechanism to collect data...
Inherent uncertainties of the air transportation system (ATS) can induce unexpected anomalies in its operations such as deviations in flight schedules, sudden imbalances of demands and capacities, etc.. Current air traffic flow management (ATFM) models rarely consider both demand and capacity uncertainties in their algorithms, and generally focus o...
A multi-bus dispatching strategy is proposed for a ring-shaped road bus transport system, which allows dispatching single bus or multiple buses and incorporates volume dynamics on both buses and stations. Also, the passengers' perceived waiting time is firstly formulated as one part of the cost function to take passengers' anxiety into account, and...
In order to efficiently balance the current and future air traffic demands with the system capacity, a proper Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) approach is required. The current focus of ATFM is generally on optimally utilizing the available airspace and airport capacities, while maintaining the required safety separation between aircraft. Yet, on...
To tackle the future air traffic demands and to enhance the safety of the Air Transportation System (ATS), a proper flight routing and scheduling scheme is required. This paper proposes an Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) model while considering the inherent uncertainties present in the ATS. The proposed model aims to reduce capacity violations a...
The importance of short-term air traffic flow management can never be depreciated due to the associated demand uncertainty which is caused by the dynamicity in the air transportation systems. Ideally, the flight plans require frequent fine-tuning depending on the dynamic network changes such as flight time deviations, weather conditions, etc.. Moti...
Demand uncertainty is one critical form of uncertainty which has an adverse effect on Air traffic flow management (ATFM). This is mainly due to the deviation in departure time and aircraft speed from their scheduled values. This may lead to the arrival of aircraft to certain routes at unscheduled times, causing an unexpected demand on those routes....
Efficient flight routing and scheduling play an important role in air traffic flow management, which aims to maximize the utilization of airport and enroute capacities to ensure safety and efficiency of air transportation. In this paper, we first propose a novel discrete-time flow dynamic model for an air traffic network, consisting of airports, wa...
The paper proposes a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking system for offshore fishing boats. The main objective of the proposed device is to minimize IUU (Illegal Unreported and Unregulated) fishing and develop sustainable fishing. There is a new demand in the world especially in Europe to import fish products only from sustainable fishing sour...
This paper proposes a Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking device for offshore fishing boats. The main objective of the device is to minimize Illegal Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing for sustainable fishing as there are new regulations in the world, especially in Europe, to import fish products only from sustainable fishing sources. Thi...
The Southern Expressway of Sri Lanka, has been in operation for few years. As in any other expressway, this too experienced few accidents. As the number of vehicles increases the number of accidents also increases. There are several factors that leads to accidents. Some are unavoidable some are avoidable, if a prior warning is given to motorists ab...
The uses of quadcopters have grown significantly because of their ability to operate in dangerous locations while keeping their human operators at a safe distance and their ability to stay balance in a selected coordinate. Some of the main usages of quadcopter are ground surveillances, mapping, for military purposes, traffic controlling, etc.
