Question
I have the following questions
1-      As you see there is a positive correlation between IV 2 and DV as Beta Coefficients value is 0.083, bust the sig>0.05 which means insignificant. So, is that possible to have positive correlation but statistically insignificant contribution? How do you interpret IV 2.
2-      As you see in IV4, the Beta Coefficients is -0.191 which is negative, but sig<0.05 which means that coefficient has statistically significant contribution in explaining dependent variable. My question here, (Is that possible to have negative correlation and statistically insignificant contribution.
3-      Please correct me if I am wrong: The value of Beta Coefficients in IV4 is - 0.191 which indicates a reverse or negative correlations between IV and DV. It can be interpreted as “IV4 has a negative correlation with DV as the value of Beta Coefficients is -0.191. Also, IV4 has the reverse contribution in explaining dependent variable”
Question
Why is sometimes R values in the correlation coefficients is different from the BETA value in Multiple Regression?
For example: the R Value obtained in the correlation coefficients for "Risk Taking" is (0.276);
but,
The BETA Value obtained in Multiple Regression for "Risk Taking" is (-0.180)
Does that indicates an error? or its normal?
How can we interpret such results?
Question
Its almost four days, I am trying to create dummy variable and run regression analysis, but I couldn't sort it out.
The problem is I have 3 continues IVs. As I understood, to create dummy variable, we have to change continuous variables to categorical variables.
Each IV has 5 levels (I am using 5 Likert Scales).
YouTube and Google couldn't help.
So, it would be a great help, if somebody can help out.
Question
I am now trying to create dummy variables for the regression analysis in SPSS. I have three IVs (Deliberation, Communication and Information) and a DV. I used 5 Likert scales (Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, Strongly Disagree).
So, how to create dummy variables with 5 Likert scales?
Question
I used multiple regression in my data analyses. I have three IV which are treated under public participation, namely deliberation, communication and information. However, I have been asked to reanalysis my data by using linear regression against my DV.
Also, I have been asked to discuss which IV contributes more in explaining dependent variable. So, its a bit confusing for me. My questions are
1- how to combine the three variables in one to test thru linear regression in SPSS?
2- What test shall I use to compare between variables and see which variable contributes more in explaining dependent variable other than BETA. Is that possible to see which variable has largest contribution in explaining DV while using Linear regression analysis in SPSS.
