The intensive study of macro-invertebrate fauna in Nyirkai-Hany and Osli-Hany were carried out between 2016 and 2020. Based on the results of the 3-year survey, it can be stated that the aquatic macro-invertebrate community of Nyirkai-Hany and Osli-Hany have not changed significantly, which is also supported by the statistical analysis of the speci...
The intensive study of Ikva, its water system and the Sopron Hills’ watercourses and lakes have been carried out between 2017 and 2019 on behalf of the Fertő–Hanság National Park Directorate. The qualitative and quantitative investigation of aquatic macroinvertebrate fauna occurred at 28 water bodies. The qualitative (faunistical) investigation was...
Swarming long-tailed mayflies (Palingenia longicauda) were observed above the former rehabilitated Gönyû-sidearm of the river Danube on the 12–13th of June 2015, which was the first observation of the species at the Hungarian Danube section, since its disappearance. Both subimago molts of the males, and females doing their compensation flight were...
We present occurrence records of 15 Ephemeroptera, 6 Odonata and 20 Trichoptera species from streams of the Kőszeg Mountains. The most significant species among several rare and endangered ones are Baetis melanonyx, B. niger, Ephemerella mucronata, Cordulegaster bidentatus, C. heros, Rhyacophila hirticornis and Potamophylax cingulatus.
Occurrences of altogether 110 macroinvertebrate species (Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Hirudinea, Malacostraca, Odonata, Ephemeroptera, Heteroptera, Trichoptera, Coleoptera) are presented in this paper. The collected materials belong to 9 MZB (macrozoobenthos) groups (11 Hirudinea, 5 Malacostraca, 6 Bivalvia, 17 Gastropoda, 9 Ephemeroptera, 15 Odonata, 14...
Two larvae collected from the River Tisza were recognized to belong to the genus Parasetodes according to the available generic description. The fact that Parasetodes respersellus is the only European/Western Palaearctic representative of the genus enabled us to describe the hitherto unknown larva of this species based on the collected specimens. D...
ABSTRACT: A three years long quantitative macrozoobenthos survey was carried out on the section of the
Kerca stream near Kercaszomor. Between 2008 and 2010 altogether 29 caddisfly (Trichoptera) species were
collected from 4 sites on the Kerca stream. Among the identified species, larvae of rare caddisflies were
detected such as Polycentropus irrora...
A larval specimen of Oligoplectrum maculatum (FOURCROY, 1785) was found in the Mura river (southern Hungary), which represents a species new to the Hungarian caddisfly fauna. Short description of the species and the sampling conditions are given. With 3 figures.
In the year 2007, a complex study was conducted on river Bodrog in the spring and once again in the summer. We sampled the river in 9 sampling units along the whole Hungarian section. The quantitative sampling method which we have used, meets the requirements of the WFD. The freshwater molluscs was one of the 10 examined macroin-vertebrate taxa. As...
2008. június 23. és augusztus 27. között a Kis-Balaton Vízvédelmi Rendszer továbbfejlesztéséhez kapcsolódó munkálatok részeként a Kis-Balaton térségében összesen 17 helyszínen végeztünk halfaunisztikai felmérést.
A nappali mintavételekhez kis teljesítményű akkumulátoros és nagy teljesítményű aggregátoros halászgépeket használtunk. A mintavételek so...
From 21/04/2009 to 24/04/2009 altogether 22 fish species were collected at 17 localities in Northeast Hungary. In this paper we present 107 distribution records. The collected species belong to 6 families (1 Balitoridae, 2 Cobitidae, 16 Cyprinidae, 1 Esocidae, 1 Centrarchidae, 1 Percidae). In this paper “present/absent” information are published. D...
Sigara hellensii (C. R. SAHLBERG, 1819) was found at Körmend and Kám (Wes-tern Hungary, Vas county). These are the first records of the species in Hungary. With three figures. – Heteroptera, Corixidae, Sigara hellensii, new record, Hungary.
The paper reviews the history of odonatological research in the landscape Bodrogköz. According to 51 papers the dragonfly fauna of the Bodrogköz consists of 51 species (78.5% of the total Hungarian fauna). Both from a faunistical and an ecological aspect, the species assemblage of Bodrogköz was found to be highly valuable in respect of the country-...
The first part of this paper (Tables 1-2) provides data on 38 Ephemeroptera, 3 Odonata and 19
Plecoptera taxa from the Zakarpats’ka Region, Ukraine. The species Taeniopteryx auberti Kis & Sowa, 1964
and T. schoenemundi (Mertens, 1923) are recorded in the first time from Ukraine. The following species are
new to Zakarpats’ka Region and Tysa River: C...
The classification according to the Water Framework Directive (WFD) includes numerous challenges in contrast with the previously applied water qualification standards. The most important element of the ecological status, the biological one, is based on five groups of living organisms: phytoplankton, phytobenthon, macrophytes, macro-invertebrates an...
In the frame of ECOSURV and Zagyva-Tarna projects altogether 23 Malacostraca species were collected at 365 sites in Hungary in 2005.
In 2005 caddisfly larvae were collected at 317 sites in Hungary. 88 caddisfly species belonging 15 families were identified (3 Rhyacophilidae, 3 Glossosomatidae, 1 Philopotamidae, 11 Hydropsychidae, 9 Polycentropodidae, 3 Psychomyidae, 1 Ecnomidae, 3 Phryganeidae, 1 Brachycentridae, 28 Limnephilidae, 4 Goeridae, 17 Leptoceridae, 1 Sericostomatidae,...
The paper presents faunistical data on dragonflies collected (larvae, exuviae and adults) and observed (adults) by the backwater Boroszló-kerti-Holt-Tisza, situated in the ancient floodplain area of River Tisza over the administrative area of the settlements Gulács and Panyola. In the case of the backwater we had five different and characteristic l...

State assessment of the backwater Hordódi-Holt-Tisza based on vegetation surveys and studies of the oxygen budget – Once independent water bodies, several parts of the reservoir Tisza-tó (Kiskörei-tározó) have preserved their original character until today. One of these, the backwater Hordódi-Holt-Tisza located in the basin Tiszavalki-medence, repr...
