The construction industry has made significant efforts to address the issues of low productivity caused by inefficient construction planning and scheduling. This issue led to more focus on integrating scheduling methods in existing studies without comprehensively analyzing the integration’s goals and objectives. In this regard, this study aims to p...

Non-informatics cost estimation is a tedious process and requires substantial amount of time and manual operations. However , BIM adoption approaches have attracted significant attention with this respect. Since BIM models are object-based with built-in parametric information, it is easier to capture the quantities of building elements and deliver...

A significant number of injuries and fatalities occur annually due to fires in buildings. The proactive use of fire safety measures at the design stage can potentially lead to a considerable improvement in reducing casualties by assisting occupants in a safe evacuation. In this study, a framework is de ve lope d to obtain a set of appropriate fire...

A wearable electroencephalogram (EEG) is considered a means for investigating psychophysiological conditions of individuals in the workplace in order to ameliorate occupational health and safety. Following other sectors, construction scholars have adopted this technology over the past decade to strengthen evidence-based practices to improve the wel...

Purpose Successful implementation of infrastructure projects has been a controversial issue in recent years, particularly in developing countries. This study aims to propose a decision support system (DSS) for the evaluation and prediction of project success while considering sustainability criteria. This paper aims at proposing a new insight into the context of construction management from the Promise Theory point of view. The theory advocates decentralization and forming a network of localized components, connected to each other in a chain of promises. Such method has been examined in configuration management systems, knowledge management and...

Cost is one of the most important criteria for evaluating the success of a construction project. Estimating construction costs is an increasing necessity for accurate budgeting and effective allocation of funding since the lack of accuracy in cost estimation could increase the risk of cost overrun. One of the major difficulties in estimating the pr...

Concrete pouring represents a major critical path activity that is often affected by design limitations, structural considerations and on-site operational constraints. As such, meticulous planning is required to ensure that both the aesthetic and structural integrity of joints between cast in-situ components is achieved. Failure to adequately plan...

As building practices change, procedures that seemed indispensable at one point can be abandoned for others, one example of which is the bill of quantities (B/Q). Research into the extant literature attributes the declining use of B/Qs to a multitude of reasons, such as its complexity, the potentially long time required to produce it, the growth in...

Building information modeling (BIM) has developed as the definitive technology for managing construction projects. With its rise, the corresponding role of BIM manager has emerged as a necessary adjunct role in coordinating BIM-enabled projects. The ascent of the BIM manager has attracted a significant body of research, investigating the various co...

Building Information Modeling (BIM) has recently emerged as a novel technology worldwide however literature review reveals a salient gap in the identification of BIM capabilities in Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of construction projects in Iran. Therefore, the aim of this research is to identify and prioritize the BIM applications toward KPIs in...

In the present article, according to the nonlocal elasticity theory within the framework of the third-order shear deformable plate assumption, the theoretical analysis of thermomechanical vibration response of magneto-electro-thermo-elastic nanoplate made of functionally graded materials resting on the visco-Pasternak medium is carried out. The sim...
