Power system security refers to the degree of risk in a system's ability to survive probable disturbances (contingencies) without interruption to customer service. Dynamic Security Assessment (DSA) is the analysis required to determine whether or not a power system can meet specified reliability and security criteria in both transient and steady-state time frames for all credible contingencies. With the increase in the share of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) plants in the power generation portfolio, the system stability and dynamic security are vulnerable to changes.
