Introduction
I am Mohammad Shafiqul Islam. I am currently pursuing a PhD at the Institute of Biotechnology, Zhejiang University in China. As well, I also work as a Research assistant at the Institute of Plant Protection and Microbiology, Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. My research interests are broad and include agricultural biotechnology, plant-pathogen-nanoparticle interactions, and fungal molecular biology.

RNA interference (RNAi) has emerged as a potent mechanism for combating pathogenic fungi and oomycetes over the past decades. It offers a promising gene-silencing approach by targeting crucial genes involved in diseases caused by economically and scientifically significant fungal pathogens, such as Botrytis cinerea and Fusarium species. Simultaneou...
Fusarium wilt, caused by the soil-borne fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon), threatens global watermelon production. Conventional fungicides have limitations in efficacy and environmental impact, prompting the search...
The rice blast disease, caused by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, is a significant agricultural problem that adversely impacts rice production and food security. Understanding the precise molecular pathways involved in the interaction between the pathogen and its host is crucial for developing effective disease management strategies. This study exam...
Nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as a revolutionary strategy in the field of agriculture, offering innovative solutions
for enhancing plant health, disease management, and sustainable crop production. This review summarizes the multifaceted
roles of NPs, synthesized chemically and biologically, in crop disease management, encompassing the NP
modula...

This review summarizes the mul-tifaceted roles of NPs, synthesized chemically and biologically, in crop disease management, encompassing the NP modul...
The pathogenic fungus Pestalotiopsis versicolor is a major etiological agent of fungal twig blight disease affecting bayberry trees. However, the lack of complete genome sequence information for this crucial pathogenic fungus hinders the molecular and genetic investigation of its pathogenic mechanism. To address this knowledge gap, we have generate...
Decline disease is a new disease that has recently caused severe damage in bayberry industry. The effect of biochar on decline disease was determined by investigating the changes in the vegetative growth and fruit quality of bayberry trees as well as soil physical and chemical properties, microbial community structure, and metabolites. Results indi...
In recent years, bayberry decline disease has caused significant damage to the bayberry industry. In order to evaluate whether humic acid can be used to effectively control the disease, this research examined the nutritional growth and fruit quality of bayberry, soil physical and chemical properties, soil microbial community structure, and metaboli...
Botrytis cinerea is a fungus that causes a huge loss of crop production. There is no specific permanent solution for this problem. With various side effects, there are few techniques for reducing this problem. Among all the solutions, chemical fungicide is the main solution for getting rid of this destroyer with a huge side effect. The new approach...
The ethnic communities primarily depend upon forest resources to fulfil the demand of their food, nutrition and medicinal requirements since the time of immemorial. The Garos are one of the few remaining matrilineal societies in the world. An investigation was conducted to understand the knowledge about the medicinal plants (MPs) being used by the...
