This research proposal aims to elucidate the untapped latent potential of local maize varieties and cultivars that exhibit resistant or tolerant against FAW infestation along with increased biomass, will find new avenues for innovation of novel insect behavioural modifying compounds, potential green pest management products, inventing good quality food and feed formulations, through this adventures it is expected to minimize the maize-based imports into Sri Lanka.
