Introduction
Mohamed Amin El Mouden currently is a PhD student in the Department of Biology, Faculty of sciences, University Abdelmalek Essaâdi, Tétouan, Morocco. Working on taxonomy, his specialty are the fly families Bolitophilidae, Diadocidiidae, Ditomyiidae, Keroplatidae, Mycetophilidae (Diptera: Sciaroidea), known as fungus gnats.

Twelve species in nine genera of Mycetophilidae are newly recorded from Morocco and from North Africa. Five species are described as new to science: Rymosia ebejerisp. nov., Leia arcanasp. nov., Megophthalmidia amsemlilisp. nov., Mycomya mirasp. nov., and Phthinia snibbypinsaesp. nov. Three species are newly recorded from Gibraltar.
The family Bolitophilidae is recorded for the first time from Morocco with one species Bolitophila (Bolitophila) saundersii (Curtis, 1836). Ten new species are added to the Moroccan fauna of Keroplatidae, known until now by only two species, raising the number of species currently known in Morocco to 12.
