This paper presents the application of an experimental method for determining the numerical values of the machinability factors of medium alloy carbon steel in the drilling process. Research conditions are defined, including tools, machine, and machining parameters. The experiment was performed according to a two-factor orthogonal experimental plan...

Abstract: The application of different strategies for performing welding sequences can affect the quality of the welded joint. The goal of different strategies is the priority in achieving minimal degrees of d...
Welding is a manufacturing process, which uses heat or pressure to form a homogeneous weld when joining homogeneous or heterogeneous metal materials or thermoplastics. The last decade has been characterized by the intensive development of unconventional welding processes, which use friction as an energy source, and in developed countries have taken...
This paper presents the numerical simulation of the Friction stir welding (FSW) process obtained by using the DEFORM 3D software package. Numerical simulations are based on experimental research, welding of aluminum alloy AA6082-T6 by FSW method, which has the thickness of 7.8 mm. The aim of this paper is to determine the reliability of numerical s...
There are several friction welding procedures that have, to a greater or lesser extent, a commercial application, among which can be distinguished FSW - Friction Stir Welding. Firstly, using the FSW procedure, straight-line compounds were obtained, and soon afterwards also curvilinear, including circular. In addition to the great interest in the FS...
This paper deals with the stress state for the open-die forging of a staggered axial-symmetric specimen of the aluminium alloy AlMgSi0.5. The experimental-theoretical method of visioplasticity, adjusted for the process of open-die forging, consisted of five steps. The basic equations of the plasticity theory, i.e., balance equation, conditions of a...
In this paper we present a model for the experimental and numerical study of helical shells. Three different forms were chosen for the experiment: Model A forms a helicoidal shell on a cylindrical shell, Model B is an annular shell on a cylindrical shell and Model C a rectangular plate on a cylindrical shell.. Placing a continuous load on the surfa...
Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) is a class of ductile iron subjected to a two-step heat treatment process - austenitization and austempering. The heat treatment gives to ADI a high value of tensile strength and an especially good strength-to-weight ratio. However, designers in most cases are unfamiliar with this material that can compete favorably w...
Experimental researches that were performed in order to determine the mechanical parameters in the process of joining of materials using the FSW process are presented in this paper. The paper presents the joining of CuETP sheet copper alloy, with thickness of 5 mm, and provides details of the friction stir welding process. Besides that, the influen...
Presented in this paper are an experimental investigation and numerical simulations of the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process. The aim was to determine thermo-mechanical and kinematic parameters of the process of joining two AlSi1MgMn aluminium alloy plates with the thickness of 7,8 mm. Experimental study was designed based on the 2-level multifac...
This paper researches the process of forging in open die of gradual axial-symmetric workpiece made of alloy AIMg-Si0,5. The physical modelling was carried out, for which an original method for physical discretisation and numerical FEM analysis was developed. The components of tensor were determined: strain, strain rate, stress and the corresponding...
This paper provides the research of the influence of geometric and kinematic parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of welded joint of aluminum alloy AlSi1MgMn (6082-T6) obtained through the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process. The experiment parameters were welding speed, rotation speed, angle of pin slope, pin diameter and sho...
The paper provides details of the friction stir welding process. The joining of the aluminium alloy sheets AlSi1MgMn, numerical labels 6082-T6, with a thickness of 7.8 mm is performed. The area of research of process parameters is current and under-explored. The paper includes experimental researches performed on the basis of the adopted experiment...
The subject matter of this paper is to research the friction factor defining contact conditions in deformation treatment. A very frequently used method of determining friction factor is by means of experimentally determined curves obtained on the basis of ring deformation. The results of various authors have been compared and significant difference...
In this paper is described developed information measuring system for recording workingpiece free contours during process of bulk metal forming in open die. In research, based on the experiment, which is concepted according to more factors orthogonal plan, recorded free contours of workingpiece during deformation, are modeled by computer with softw...
We deal with the modelling of the high deformations. A numerical model based on a small parameter method, which includes decomposition of the stress into hydrostatic and shear components, is proposed. This numerical approach provides the determination of deformation velocity components, and then, with sufficient accuracy, deformation and stress com...
Research field related to geometrical and mechanical parameters in friction stir welding process is current and insufficiently explored, it is particularly present considering the class of aluminum alloy series 6000 (AlMgSi). The research paper is related to the friction stir welding of aluminum alloy 6082-T6 (AlMgSi1Mn) with the thickness of 7.8 m...
This paper describes application of finite element method, based on elastic-plastic formulation, to metal forming analyses. Simple upsetting in wide range deformation are investigated. Graphically illustrated results, using developed software, are obtained: incremental displacement, generalized stress and generalized plastic strain.
