This work studies the information that the historiography on King Alfonso XI of Castile offers on the Marīnid dynasty of Fes. Project
The research project MAGNA (Cultural Geography of the Maghreb and Human Dynamics in North Africa), is the result of two coordinated subprojects that share a common field of study, the same geographical space, a similar chronology and a main objective: to create a website specifically devoted to North African geography. This website will be focused on two different categories of information. On the one hand, the subproject “Cultural Geography of Medieval and Modern Islamic Maghreb on-line” (GEOMAGRED) intends to create a comprehensive dictionary of North African place-names. On the other hand, the subproject “Human Dynamics in North Africa: Settlements and Landscape in Historical Perspective” (DHUNA), aims to make a significant contribution to the knowledge of the relationship between population and landscape in North Africa from a historical point of view. This subproject will focus on the Berber populations.
