Introduction
As a political scientist, my expertise lies in the intersection of International Relations, Comparative Political Systems, Policy Research and Human Rights and Gender Studies. I'm currently working on five issue areas: 1) the relationship between democratic recession, the rise of rightist populist movements and the rise of authoritarianism; 2) Women's reproductive rights and the global health issues; 3) Europe's refugee settlement and Integration policies and the related responsibility and solidarity concerns at different levels; 4) Factors and governance structures that shape different outlooks of norm contestation and diffusion at local level; 5) Degendering representational politics with the case studies of language use, #MeToo and Time'sUp movements and the veiling issue in Europe.

Unlike most current China studies which focus either on China’s domestic state-–society relationships in the reform process or China’s foreign relations (Bader 2015; Bell 2015), this edited book provides a holistic perspective and analyses China’s authoritarian rule reflected in domestic developments and its effects upon international relations.
