Hungary is among the highest consumers of alcohol in the EU (above the average). Any action that encourages the reduction of alcohol (over)consumption should receive scientific attention. Száraz november (‘Dry November’) is a Hungarian campaign with the same purpose as the 'Go sober for October' campaign in the UK and Ireland. The campaign can be considered as Facebook-based ’self-intervention’ program as participants voluntarily give up drinking alcohol for a month and keep in touch via this social media site. The scientific work to be carried out in this project aims to measure the ‘before-after’ impact on volunteers for 4 week abstinency in Hungary.
