Introduction
I am Md. Kaviul Islam, and I am a graduate student (Ph.D. program) in the Mechanical Engineering department at Iowa State University (USA). In 2018, I received my BSc Engineering degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology. I am on leave from the Canadian University of Bangladesh, where I was a lecturer. I am currently conducting research on the conversion of E-waste and biomass waste into sustainable products in laser treatment process

The soaring rise of electronic and electrical waste (E-waste) leads to significant challenges to the South Asian region, urging for incorporating comprehensive assessment and management strategies. The research dives into the intricacies of E-waste and examines how regulatory barriers, public ignorance, and the limited lifespan of electronic device...
In the realm of photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) systems, optimizing operating temperatures for photovoltaic (PV) panels is a challenge. This study introduces a novel solution: a sprayed water PVT system that simultaneously harnesses energy and electricity. The aim is twofold: generate electricity through PV panels and produce hot water via a flat plate...
Cooking is one of the regular activities involved in preparing food. Cooking extends the shelf life of food by killing different microorganisms, including bacteria. Moreover, it enhances the taste and edibility of food; to be more precise, cooking increases the nutrient-retrieving efficiency of food for the consumer. Nowadays, cooking is not practi...
Port is considered as the crucial node for trade exchange and it influences on the national, regional and international development. The port competitiveness depends on the operational performance of port supply chain management. Chattogram port is the major port of Bangladesh and plays vital role in the national economy. The daily vessel arrival r...
The paper aims to study different aspects of liquid fuel production through pyrolysis from agricultural residues, MSW, and e-waste available in Bangladesh. The abundant production of various crops generates massive amounts of residue such as rice straw, wheat straw, rice husk, jute stick, and sugarcane bagasse in Bangladesh have great potential for...
In Bangladesh, several gas turbine-based power plants often desynchronized from the national grid and remain in shutdown condition due to unstable grid frequency, lower electricity demand in the cold season, inclement weather etc. The main objective of this paper is to utilize those shutdown periods to lengthen off-line water wash cycle interval of...
. From the wave characteristics of St. Martin, Sandwip & Maheshkhali it was observed that Wave Energy costs only about 1.4% and 5.86% of solar energy and fossil fuel energy. Two Devices have been found to be most promising for the condition of Bay of Bengal. These are Oscillating Water Column (OWC) & the Overtopping Device (OD). Due to simplicity a...
Recent research shows that about 36% more energy can be obtained by tracking the motion of sun by using solar panel as compared to soar panel at fixed position. In this paper, the tracking process is governed and controlled by programmable logic controller (PLC) where two stepper motors are used to guide the motion of the solar panel in azimuth and...
