Introduction
Primary research work is based on the development of liposomes-based mRNA vaccine for inflammatory bowel disease, arteriosclerosis and wound healing. Also investigating the role of naturally derived exosomes (plant and animal cells) in inflammation and giant cells formation which forms by macrophage cells during foreign body response. Knee interest is to explore the role of biomaterials/ liposomes/ exosomes in giant cells formation and investigating its fundamental molecular mechanism.

Description
  • Worked in the area of microbiology, nanotechnology, molecular biology and immunology. Obtained extensive experience of biosynthesis of different kinds of metal and metal oxide nanomaterials for the treatment of microbial infections associated with the skins (wounds). Also investigating the toxicological impact of nanomaterials towards the different mammalian cells to establish the nanomaterials encapsulated hydrogels dressings for wound healing.

In the present paper, a facile synthesis of gold nanoparticles is reported with leaf and stem extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa. Structural features of as synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, XRD, FTIR, and XPS. Morphology of the above synthesized gold nanoparticles is investigated by electron microscopy. The stability o...

Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory disease of aorta, remains the major cause of morbidity and mortality among cardiovascular disease patients. Macrophage foam cell formation and inflammation are critically involved in early stages of atherosclerosis, hence chemopreventive targeting of foam cell formation by nutraceuticals may be a promising ap...

Normal healthy skin forms a defensive barrier to prevent the invasion of harmful microorganisms into the body. When the skin is damaged, a wound forms. The subsequent healing process may be disturbed by both internal and external factors. The most important factor is that invading microorganisms can contaminate, infect, and delay wound healing. The...

Chemotherapy side effects, medication resistance, and tumor metastasis impede the advancement of cancer treatments, resulting in a poor prognosis for cancer patients. In the last decade, nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as a promising drug delivery system. Swertia chirayita has long been used as a treatment option to treat a variety of ailments. Zi...

Antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles is often associated with toxicity to the host. We here report that noncytotoxic doses of silver nanoparticles coated with zinc oxide, [email protected], can stimulate proliferation and migration of human keratinocytes, HaCaT, with increased expression of Ki67 and vinculin at the leading edge of wounds....
Article
Chronic wound infections are one of the major causes of clinical complexities and contribute to the ever increasing burden on the health care system in low and middle income countries. Efficacious interventions are needed for the management of chronic wounds. Here, we report the development of hydrogels embedded with biogenic [email protected] core...

Gut microbiome evidenced as the assembling mode of action facilitates the relationship of environmental factors (such as diet and lifestyle) with colorectal cancer. The cytotoxic and anticancer studies of the enzymatically extracted polysaccharides from selected Indian seaweeds (such as S. wightii, E. compressa, and A. spicifera) on Raw 264.7 macro...
Article
Rapid increase in the case of bacterial infections is considered as a major public health concern and hence exploration of alternative treatment procedures including development of nanomaterials based therapeutic strategies is receiving much attention. In this aspect, here we investigated the antibacterial efficacy of a simple and potential metal/m...

The aim of the present study is focused on the synthesis of Au@ZnO core–shell nanocomposites, where zinc oxide is overlaid on biogenic gold nanoparticles obtained from Hibiscus Sabdariffa plant extract. Optical property of nanocomposites is investigated using UV–visible spectroscopy and crystal structure has been determined using X-ray crystallogra...

Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized using Andrographis paniculata leaf extract, characterized using XRD, FTIR and TEM. CFU assay showed remarkable antimicrobial activity of synthesized Ag NPs against Candida krusei, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogens and Klebsiella pneumonia. Possible antimicrobial mechanism wa...
Article
Synthesis of Ag/CaCO3 nanocomposites was accomplished by a two step technique. CaCO3 nanoparticles were synthesized by ultrasound assisted precipitation technique followed by deposition of silver via bio-inspired technique using a bio-reductant obtained from Andrographis paniculata and Aloe vera. X-ray diffraction pattern has confirmed the formatio...
