Introduction
I have a long-term interest on ecology and management of aquatic systems after my Environmental Biology degree in 1985 at the Autonomous Univ. (Madrid, Spain). Research on fluctuating temporary lakes delights me. My passions are in situ experiments and dynamic modelling, but I devote more to e.g. raise funds, supervise PhDs, and revise manuscripts. I lead a small transdisciplinary group on microbial mats, waterfowl metapopulations, wetland creation, and assessing services of aquatic ecosystems.
