My research investigates the developmental and cognitive mechanisms involved in analogical reasoning. Specifically, I am interested in how development in the conceptual and linguistic systems allows children to analogically reason with increasingly sophisticated concepts as they develop. I am also interested in how knowledge of these mechanisms can inform educational practice when understanding relationships is key to understanding the concepts being taught.
Does anyone know of a standardised measure of spatial working memory suitable for 4yo children (other than the Wechsler preschool scales)?
Thanks in advance!
The aim of this project is understand how development in the conceptual and linguistic systems supports/constrains children's analogical reasoning ability.
