Introduction
Mathias-Felipe de-Lima-Santos (Ph.D.) is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam. Previously, he was a researcher in the JOLT project, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Training Network funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020. He was also a Visiting Researcher at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. Mathias-Felipe is co-editor of the book “Journalism, Data and Technology in Latin America” published by Palgrave.

The DMSO is a research group of the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp). It fosters discussion at the intersection of computer science, communications, and society using computational methods and concepts to analyze today's society and help to create knowledge and strategies necessary for a more ethical and inclusive society, combating its destructive use.

JOLT is investigating how to harness digital and data technology for journalism. Through the work of 15 PhD projects, it will deliver new theoretical insights, technical advancements, and best-practice guidelines for journalism and the news industry. JOLT brings together researchers from multiple disciplines – journalism, communication, data science, computer science, electronic engineering – and works with academic and industry partners across the EU.
