Reactionary Democracy addresses the mutual influences between far-right and mainstream political discourse, arguing that the renewal of right-wing radicalism has legitimized liberal racism whilst distracting us from its systemic expressions. Whilst the book is an important endeavour helping to enunciate debates on racism next to an audience interes...
Chapter
In this chapter, we discuss a specific conceptualisation of racism that became hegemonic in Europe/West, a notion that evades the routine governmentalities inherited from colonialism. Such a conceptualisation - which emphasises individual cognitive and interpersonal processes - results in the misrecognition of racism in daily life, as well as in th...

Focando na educação, o artigo anali...

This article examines how in Portugal, in political discourse and in the educational context, 'race' is part of a game of in/visibility.
