Wetlands of Armenia have occupied a significant area in the past; however, during the last century, they declined critically. The swamps and marshes of the country are represented by two general types: the brackish marshes and the reedbeds of Ararat Plain, and the grassy marshes located on the mountain plateaus. The wetlands consist of a rich biolo...
History of usage of the name Lethrotrypes Jacobson, 1892 is discussed. New synonyms are established: Lethrotrypes Jacobson, 1892 = Parathorectes López-Colón et Bahillo De la Puebla, 2022, syn. n., Trypocopris (Lethrotrypes) inermis (Ménétriés, 1832) = Parathorectes pueblai López-Colón et Bahillo De la Puebla, 2022, syn. n.
Since 2020, our scientific group is conducting surveys in drying coniferous plantations of Armenia. During the work, the biodiversity of insect pests was revealed and a number of alien species were discovered. At the same time, the facts of further expansion of invasive species in the country were observed.
In the current paper, we provide a complete list of 32 Nepticulidae species discovered in Armenia, along with photographic samples of detected leaf mines. For the first time, we include photographic documentation of the male genitalia structures of the Armenian Glaucolepis melanoptera (van Nieukerken & Puplesis) and the previously little-known, for...
The question of the type species of taxon of the generic rank Eulasia Truqui, 1848 is considered. Chapin [1938] designated Amphicoma papaveris Sturm, 1843 as type species for the taxon, but later Medvedev [1960] accepted Scarabaeus arctos Pallas, 1781, as type species, and this designation, being invalid, became commonly used. Baraud [1990] describ...

Alien invasive species are considered the most important threat to biodiversity and ecosystem services in many countries of the world. At the same time, they have a very significant impact on the standard of living of the population (IPBES 2018). Very often, they are the main reason for the extinction of local species (Bellard et al. 2015) and caus...
