I am very interested in hermeneutics and the biblical texts relevant to women in church leadership and public preaching and teaching ministry. My MA dissertation at the University of Birmingham (U.K) was entitled, "Theological and Hermeneutical Considerations Regarding Female Empowerment Within Early North American Pentecostalism (1906-1908)." Having served as a vocational cross-cultural missionary before becoming a pastor, I am also very interested in the way culture impacts hermeneutics.
Early North American Pentecostals allowed women to engage in a wide spectrum of spiritual leadership activities, including the public preaching and teaching of Scripture when men were present in the audience.
