Starting out as student coding events, hackathons have become a global phenomenon promising to drive entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, civic engagement and more. The goal of this project is to bring us closer to fulfilling these promises by identifying potential outcomes of hackathons and fostering their sustainability over time. Findings will support organizers, participants and mentors to prepare for, conduct and follow-up on hackathons to reach their goals.
