The paper briefly describes 3D variability of reservoir properties, such as poro-sity and permeability at a micro-scale in reference to the directionality of rock microtexture and the occurrence of a deformation band. The study was conducted on the sample of the coarse-grained Krosno Sandstones with a deformation band after treatment with hydrochlo...
In the Polish part of the Carpathian Foredeep, an intensification of gas exploration and exploitation from Miocene strata
took place in the middle of the twentieth century. In spite of a good degree of geological and reservoir recognition, the
area of the Carpathian Foredeep is still considered to be prospective for the discovery of new gas reservo...
In recent years, the world, including Europe, has seen a much higher incidence of extreme weather phenomena. The ongoing climatic changes have a direct impact on the condition of surface waters. Groundwater is less affected by anthropogenic pollution than surface water, since groundwater can be used in distribution systems for municipal purposes, f...
According to Szuflicki et al. (Szuflicki, 2017) in the area of the Carpathian Foredeep 103 natural gas reservoirs exist, of which 76 are exploited. Lot of them have been drilled in Miocene sandstones. Although there are new reservoirs with a low depletion rate, in most cases these reservoirs are largely depleted. For many of these reservoirs, the u...
