Telemedicine has emerged as a vital component of contemporary healthcare, revolutionizing the way medical services are delivered and accessed (e.g., it enables patients living in underserved or rural areas to receive medical consultation and treatment remotely). Moreover, telemedicine plays a pivotal role in improving healthcare efficiency by reduc...

In medical process mining, specific domain characteristics have to be dealt with: in particular, in medicine, a significant amount of expert knowledge is typically available; moreover, an interactive approach, letting medical users be involved in the work of process model discovery, is more acceptable than a completely automated strategy. To this e...

Process model discovery covers the different methodologies used to mine a process model from traces of process executions, and it has an important role in artificial intelligence research. Current approaches in this area, with a few exceptions, focus on determining a model of the flow of actions only. However, in several contexts, (i) restricting t...

The traces of process executions are a strategic source of information, from which a model of the process can be mined. In our recent work, we have proposed SIM (semantic interactive miner), an innovative process mining tool to discover the process model incrementally: it supports the interaction with domain experts, who can selectively merge parts...

Process model discovery has gained a lot of attention in recent years, to mine a process model from traces of process executions. In our recent work, we have proposed SIM (Semantic Interactive Miner), an innovative process mining tool able to discover the process model in an incremental way: first, a mining module builds an initial process model, c...

Knowledge-based decision support systems have a long tradition within the medical area. In particular, in the last decades, many Computer-Interpretable Guidelines (CIG) systems have been built to provide evidence-based and knowledge-based support to physicians. Since CIGs are, by definition, devoted to the management of specific diseases, the treat...

In an educational context, experimenting with a real cloud computing platform is very important to let students understand the core concepts, methodologies and technologies of cloud computing. However, API heterogeneity of cloud providers complicates the experimentation by forcing students to focus on the use of different APIs, and by hindering the...

Technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE France Section FMEC 2020 CFP: Cloud computing provides large range of services and virtually unlimited available resources for users. New applications, such as virtual reality and smart building control, have emerged due to the large number of resources and services brought by cloud computing. However, the delay-sen...

Next generation cloud systems will require a paradigm shift in how they are constructed and managed. Conventional control and management platforms are facing considerable challenges regarding flexibility, dependability and security that next generation systems will require. The cloud computing paradigm has gone part of the way towards alleviating s...

The paper focuses on how computational models and methods impact on current legal systems, and in particular, on criminal justice. While the discussion about the suitabilty of the exploitation of learning machines and Artificial Intelligence (AI) either as surveillance means and human substitutes in the judicial decision-making process is arising,...

Most of our daily activities are carried out by means of mobile applications, that typically generate and store on the device large sets of data. The forensic analysis of these data thus plays a crucial role during an investigation, as it allows to reconstruct the above activities. Manually analyzing these applications is a long, tedious, and error...

We consider fog computing scenarios where data generated by a set of IoT applications need to be processed locally by a set of fog nodes, belonging to distinct Fog Infrastructure Providers (FIPs) sharing the same co‐location facility, with the aim of increasing their profits. This is a challenging goal as it requires reducing costs and meeting QoS...
Conference Paper
FemtoClouds are computing platforms, implementing the Fog Computing paradigm, consisting in an ensemble of heterogeneous mobile devices whose users agree to run the tasks offloaded by other users. FemtoClouds are well suited for the execution of Bag-of-Tasks (BoTs) applications, but, being characterized by high resource heterogeneity and volatility...

Grid computing is a distributed computing paradigm which aims to aggregate several heterogeneous and distributed resources, belonging to different and independent organizations, in a dynamic, transparent and coordinated way. Since its introduction, Grid computing has been successfully applied to solve several scientific challenging applications. De...

Since its introduction, the Grid computing paradigm has been widely adopted both in scientific and also in industrial areas. The main advantage of the Grid computing paradigm is the ability to enable, in a transparent way, the sharing and the coordination of several heterogeneous and large-scale distributed resources belonging to different institut...

Edge Computing (EC) represents the most promising solution to the real-time or near-real-time processing needs of the data generated by Internet of Things devices. The emergence of Edge Infrastructure Providers (EIPs) will bring the EC benefits to those enterprises that cannot afford to purchase, deploy, and manage their own edge infrastructures. T...

A typical problem that arises when devising a novel resource management strategy for virtualized infrastructures is how to experimentally assess its ability of achieving its design goals and whether it advances the state of the art. Among the available options, the use of a physical testbed is usually considered to be the most appropriate because o...

In this paper we present a methodology for the forensic analysis of the artifacts generated on Android smartphones by Telegram Messenger, the official client for the Telegram instant messaging platform, which provides various forms of secure individual and group communication, by means of which both textual and non-textual messages can be exchanged...

Cloud providers (CPs) rely on server consolidation (the allocation of several virtual machines [VMs] on the same physical server) to minimize their costs. Maximizing the consolidation level is thus become 1 of the major goals of cloud providers. This is a challenging task because it requires the ability of estimating, in a resource contention scena...

We present the forensic analysis of the artifacts generated on Android smartphones by ChatSecure, a secure Instant Messaging application that provides strong encryption for transmitted and locally-stored data to ensure the privacy of its users. We show that ChatSecure stores local copies of both exchanged messages and files into two distinct, AES-2...

In this paper, we deal with the problem of maximizing the profit of Network Operators (NOs) of green cellular networks in situations where Quality-of-Service (QoS) guarantees must be ensured to users, and Base Stations (BSs) can be shared among different operators. We show that if NOs cooperate among them, by mutually sharing their users and BSs, t...

Since the mid 1990s, grid computing systems have emerged as an analogy for making computing power as pervasive an easily accessible as an electric power grid. Since then, grid computing systems have been shown to be able to provide very large amounts of storage and computing power to mainly support the scientific and engineering research on a wide...

Modern cloud data centers rely on server consolidation (the allocation of several virtual machines on the same physical host) to minimize their costs. Choosing the right consolidation level (how many and which virtual machines are assigned to a physical server) is a challenging problem, because contemporary multitier cloud applications must meet se...

Federations among sets of Cloud Providers (CPs), whereby a set of CPs agree to mutually use their own resources to run the VMs of other CPs, are considered a promising solution to the problem of reducing the energy cost. In this paper, we address the problem of federation formation for a set of CPs, whose solution is necessary to exploit the potent...

We address the problem of managing cloud applications, consisting of a set of virtual machines (VMs), characterized by bursty and dynamic workloads, in such a way to provide guarantees on their Quality-of-Services (QoS) and, at the same time, to minimize the energy consumption of the physical infrastructure running them. We propose a fuzzy controll...

Question
Fuzzy Model Predictive Controllers (FMPCs), sometimes referred to as Fuzzy Model-based Predictive Controllers, are widely used in literature (see references below), but I'm unable to find any source code.
I want to perform some research experiments with FMPC and implementing it from scratch would take a long time.
Can you point me out a link where I can download the source code implementation of FMPC?
Thank you!
