Introduction
My research interests are focused in Conservation Biogeography and Climate Change. Trough the use of DNA, Ecological Niche Modeling and Biogeography knowledge my goal is to investigate the evolutionary history of Subpolar species and its reactions to past and future climate change, developing present day management and conservation strategies.

Quaternary glacial cycles have shaped the geographic distributions and evolu-tion of numerous species in the Arctic. Ancient DNA suggests that the Arcticfox went extinct in Europe at the end of the Pleistocene and that Scandinaviawas subsequently recolonized from Siberia, indicating inability to track itshabitat through space as climate changed. Us...

Easter Island has experienced a marked increase in tourism during the past few decades; this has intensified the use of natural resources, which has in turn posed new threats to marine wildlife. To gather information on marine turtle species inhabiting Easter Island and research needs for their conservation, we conducted interviews with local commu...

Island–continent isolation scenarios have played major roles in the understanding and development of evolutionary theories. During the last glacial maximum (LGM) in southern Chile, ice sheet advances and retreats formed the Patagonian archipelago along the southern Pacific Ocean. Chiloé Island is the largest island from the archipelago isolated fro...

The southern pudu (Pudu puda) is a threatened deer that is endemic to the South American temperate forests. Despite its assumed threatened status, there is relatively little understanding on the ecology and conservation of this species. Considering this situation and the fact that there are some research groups currently working on this species, we...
