The aim of the project s both to diagnose the personal identity among people with mild intellectual disability in late adolescence and emerging adulthood in comparison to their non-disabled peers and to diagnose the change of their identity during two years (longitudinal study). Dual-cycle model of identity formation by Koen Luyckx et al. was used (Luyckx, Gossens & Soenens, 2006). The analysis included potential determinants of identity formation: life orientations and type of social participation (Reinders, 2006), flexibility in using parenting styles (Hersey & Campbell, 1999) and the environmental activity offers.
