Introduction
Benthic organisms of coastal ecosystems are central in several ecosystem functions. Due to their relationships with the environment, they are impacted by environmental and anthropogenic disturbances. My PhD thesis aims to identify structural and functional responses of macro-, meio and microbenthos communities to abiotic and biotic stressors. In my research, I am using both traditional taxonomic assessment and DNA metabarcoding, and combining field studies with field and aquarium experiments.
