I am working with heat treatment of Titanium alloy 6246. To my knowledge, the minimum hardness may achieve is 37.7 HRC (converted from tensile strength of 1158 MPa) by triplex annealing.
Is there any other annealing that may reduce the hardness up to 20 HRC?

I am working with drilling of Titanium alloy. In observing tool wear, I found difficulty in removing build-up edge from the surface of the tool before tool wear measurement. The tool I use is carbide and TiAlN coated carbide. without removing the BUE it is impossible to check the tool wear properly.
