Sodium-ion batteries (NIBs) have emerged as a promising candidate for energy storage due to their affordability, safety, and the abundance of sodium. Our research focuses on understanding sodium-based electrolyte degradation to improve the performance, lifespan, and safety of NIBs, thereby advancing energy storage technologies.
By analyzing the de...
This work investigates the stability of electrolyte systems used in sodium-ion-based batteries. The electrolytes consist of a 1:1 (v:v) mixture of ethylene carbonate (EC) and propylene carbonate (PC), a sodium-conducting salt (either NaPF6 or NaTFSI), and fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC), respectively, sodium difluoro(oxalato) borate (NaDFOB), as add...
Analysing degradation products of sodium-based electrolytes is very important for the development of Na-ion batteries (NIBs) which are cheap, safe and abundance. In the battery, the presence of sodium metal plays a role mainly in half cells, but the reactivity of sodium with the electrolyte is not yet understood. It is also unclear how the electrol...
C-glycopyranosyl derivatives of six-membered heterocycles are scarcely represented in the chemical literature and the title 3-glycopyranosyl-1,2,4-triazines are completely unknown. In this paper, the first synthesis of this compound class is accomplished by the cyclocondensation of C-glycosyl formamidrazones and 1,2-dicarbonyl derivatives. In addit...
We measure the epoxidized soybean and linseed oils with ESI-QTOF and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers and characterize them by applying mass-remainder analysis. We determine the number of carbon atoms and epoxide groups, the degree of epoxidation as well as applying tandem mass spectrometry we study the fragmentation mechanisms and propose the fragment...
Polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG 400) was used as a permeability probe to examine the gastrointestinal tract which can be involved in the pathogenesis of some inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. A novel methodology was developed and validated for the quantitation of PEG 400 excreted in human urine after oral administration using matrix-assisted laser...
Nowadays, increasing of plastic waste causes a big eco problem on our planet. That’s why there is a big demand on the production of biodegradable polymers. Since epoxidized vegetable oils can undergo photopolymerization reaction to produce biopolymers, the characterization of these compounds is very important to propose new materials .
Direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry (DART-MS) was used to characterize fire
retardant compounds in commercially available polyurethane samples. Ethyl-phosphates, melamine and chloro-phosphates were identified despite the fact that the European Commission set out specific limit value in toys. We have demonstrated that the DART-MS method...
The characteristics of the polyalkylene oxide polyether polyols highly influence the properties of final polyurethane products. As a novel approach, in order to gain structural information, the recently invented data mining procedures, namely the Mass-remainder analysis (MARA) and the Multistep Mass-remainder analysis (M-MARA) are successfully appl...
The evaluation of complex mass spectra requires effective data processing and visualization methods. The recently invented data mining procedure, the mass-remainder analysis (MARA), was further developed for use in the mass spectrometry of polymer blends containing copolymers. MARA is based on the calculation of the mass remainder after dividing by...
Poster demonstrates the application of Mass-Remainder Analysis to differentiate and identify fragment series obtained from polypropylene-oxide (PPO) initiated by sorbitol. More than 20 types of fragment ions were identified. The fragment series differ only in the number of monomer units have identical MR values, classifying the product ions and mak...
Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS and ESI-MS) were used for the characterization of epoxidized soybean and linseed oils, which are important raw materials in the biopolymer production. The recently invented data mining approach, mass-remainder analysis (MARA), was implemented for the...

In my diploma thesis I studied the syntheses of C-glucosaminyl-1,2,4-triazines and 1,2,4-triazin-5(4H)-ones.
For the preparation of the target heterocycles C-(2-deoxy-2-phthalimido-3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)formamidrazone was prepared first. The reaction of O-peracylated C-glucosaminyl formimidate obtained from the corresponding formam...
