Introduction
Mahinnaz Mirdehghan, Ph.D Associate Professor of General & Applied Linguistics, Speciality: Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages (TPSOL), Shahid Beheshti University (SBU; formerly National University of Iran). In the area of teaching Persian language, a reference framework which represents the general principles and could shape the road map for various fields of developing and designing educational materials and textbooks for different language levels has always been an essential requirement. Accordingly, within a research project (in collaboration with the International Scientific Cooperation Center of MSRT), Mirdehghan and her colleagues have provided the Persian Reference Framework (PRF), on the basis of Common European Framework of Reference for teaching languages.
