In this work, we consider the possibility of expanding wormholes in higher-dimensions, which is an important ingredient of modern theories of fundamental physics. An important motivation is that non-trivial topological objects such as microscopic wormholes may have been enlarged to macroscopic sizes in an expanding inflationary cosmological backgro...

We explore a cosmological model inspired by the modified Kaniadakis entropy and disclose the influences of the modified Friedmann equations on the evolution of the Universe. We find that in modified Kaniadakis cosmology with only pressure-less matter, one can reproduce the accelerated Universe without invoking any kind of dark energy. We delve into...

In this work, we consider two recently introduced novel regular black hole solutions and investigate the circular null geodesics to find the connection between the photon sphere, the horizon and the black hole shadow radii. An alternative theory of gravity that has attracted much attention recently is the novel four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (4D EGB) gravity. The theory is rescaled by the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) coupling constant α→α/(D−4) in D dimensions and redefined as four-dimensional gravity in the limit D→4. Thus, in this manner, the GB term yields a non-trivi...

The theory is rescaled by the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) coupling constant $\alpha \rightarrow \alpha/(D - 4)$ in $D$ dimensions and redefined as four-dimensional gravity in the limit $D \rightarrow 4$. Thus, in t...

Question
I have heard the followings about the source of gravitational waves (GW):
1. GWs are generated by time variations of the mass quadrupole moment of the source.
2. GWs are radiated by objects that have acceleration provided that the motion is not perfectly spherically or cylindrically symmetric.
However, I don't know whether these statements are true or not and if they are true, why (both conceptually and mathematically)?
Thanks in advance
Question
I mean how can I obtain \partial ((-h)^(1/2)*K)/ \partial h_{ab} where K is extrinsic carvature and h_{ab} is induced metric?
