The Upper Triassic Kurra Chine Formation in the Sarta oil field of the Kurdistan Region of Northern Iraq has garnered limited attention, notwithstanding the keen interest of numerous international oil companies in drilling wells within this geological epoch. This study endeavors to thoroughly investigate the Formation Evaluation and petrophysical p...
Palynofacies (PF) analysis was conducted on 34 crushed samples of the Upper Triassic Kurra Chine Formation. These samples were collected from one outcrop sample and two production wells in northern Iraq. A 10μm nylon mesh sieve was used for the concentration of palynomorphs. Four palynofacies types were found in this study. PF1 was characterized pr...
The current research deal with evaluating the Late Triassic Kurra Chine Formation using the
Rock-Eval Pyrolysis technique in selected wells in Sarta-2 and Tawke-17 Oil fields, and the
Sirwan Valley outcrop, in Northern Iraq. A total of twenty-six samples were selected for this
study; nineteen cuttings samples from the wells and seven outcrop sam...

Abstract
The study of carbonate petrography is essential for understanding reservoir properties and the quality of rock formations. High-resolution cathodoluminescence spectroscopy and optical microscopy were used to determine the impact of cement on the porosity evolution of carbonate rocks of the Kurra Chine Formation at Sirwan Valley, Northern I...
A detailed sedimentological investigation of the Baluti Formation (Late Triassic) in the Warte section, Imbricated Zone, northeastern Kurdistan region of Iraq has been undertaken for the first time. The formation is comprised of 34 m of dolomitic limestone, marly limestone, and marly dolomitic limestone which is partially brecciated and all interbe...
Petrophysical properties of the Early Cretaceous Sarmord and Garagu formations from the Atrush and Sarsang Blocks in the Kurdistan Region are studied. These formations are generally composed of limestones and dolomitic
limestones interbedded with thin to medium layers of yellowish-gray marl
(calcareous mudstone). The current study shows that the av...
The Zagros Fold and Thrust Belt in Iraq contain host prolific hydrocarbons and recently, significant oil reservoirs have been discovered in the Jurassic carbonate rocks. The current work focuses on Water and Hydrocarbon Saturation in the carbonate rocks of the Sargelu Formation (Middle Jurassic) based on a set of conventional Wireline logs which ar...

I am working on the Triassic period and particularly sedimentology, petrography, porosity, fracture and Diagenesis.
who worked at this period and has related paper.
I appreciate it.
I am doing description of the Triassic carbonate description in terms of Diagenesis and facies analysis. where can I find the related paper or book? thanks for your recommendation
Recently, Nanotechnology is going to contribute with many sciences.
I would like to know is there any relationship between Mineralogy and Nanotechnology to identify the reservoir characterization?
It is going to start online studying in Iraq. there are many facilities to start that program but, there are many people who blamed that when you take courses online instead of in a physical classroom. If your schedule makes it hard to attend classes, if you prefer studying at your own pace or if you live far from campus, online learning might be for you. on the other hand, they are asking as we don't have enough equipment and network to start this program.
explain your idea about that.
I am looking to read something about IVG porosity. who has any information about that?
Thank you
Does anybody know what is the K-T boundary? it means Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary at Danian Age. What happened during that Age.
Thank you
