Introduction
I am Dr. Maha AL-Ugaily, a distinguished architecture doctor and researcher. My reserach is centered around combining 'synaesthesia' with virtual spatial environments, which has led to an interdisciplinary approach in architecture and VR/AR technologies. I believe that architecture shapes our memory of space and time, and my research is focused on exploring this idea in the areas of architectural pedagogy, interior design, architectural design, and urban design.

Nowadays, non-smart cities face challenges such as climate change, population increase versus resource depletion, transportation problems and lifestyle changes, while in the model of smart cities, the urban area can cope with most of these challenges. Although the term smart city is not a fixed term and so far it has not been defined, in other word...

Resilience as a theory is one of the most important contemporary trends in sustainable planning due to the many risks that cities are challenging. The most important of which are environmental, economic, social and other unexpected changes in the city and its urban elements that may threaten the stability of growth of those cities. Urban resilience...

Abstract: This research article draws attention to the sensory experience of architecture, whereby all different sensory aspects of the built environment work together to stimulate and communicate with the users’ senses. The resaerch disseminates a new term ‘SynaestheticScape’, which describes this experience. This term was introduced for the first...

The study combines synaesthesia as a cross-sensory model with the use of virtual scapes in architectural design practice, where users’ sensory associations, perceptions and emotions are blended. It thus explores possibilities for how architects might design in a synaesthetic way. The aim is to contribute to the design palette of architecture by dev...

Since the nineties of the 20 th century and during the first ten years of the 21st century the high- rise buildings (skyscrapers) become one of the facilities which reflect civilization and urbanization, countries of the highest technology compete with each other to obtain the best results reached by the design in terms of height, not only tha...

Question
Hello Mr. To
Im interested in the topic of VR and the technology of immersive environments, and was wondering if you have an identified method or methodology to bring those ideas to practice or you are just exploring the possibilities in theory?
Question
I'm looking for a definition for the term (references), and examples on how it is used in design.
Question
I have too many data to be discussed in the focus group.
I'm planning to sort the data into categories and propose some detailed approaches to guide the data analyses in the focus group, Or shall I analyse the data and use the focus group to validate the results?
