I have a question regarding time of stimulus presentation. I want to use faces and pictures from IAPS as subliminal primes. However - they will be part of one experimental procedure thus time of exposition should be equal to avoid any methodological inaccuracy.
It is obvious that faces are very sensitive group of stimuli as they are encoded very fast (some studies report participants were able to determine they were seeing faces after 9 ms presentation).
Do you have any idea what exposition time should I use? I was thinking about 20 ms, but I'm afraid that it will be too much for faces to consider them as subliminal primes.
I would be grateful for any ideas how to resolve this issue!
