Introduction
My qualitative doctoral dissertation aims to gain an in-depth understanding of how young mothers who received child protective services cope with complex trauma and its recovery in the context of early motherhood. It focuses on the relational disruptions stemming from complex trauma and on the way motherhood may interact with recovery. I am especially interested in complex trauma and its recovery among different populations, in trauma-sensitive practices and in qualitative methods.
