Introduction
My PhD thesis explored contemporary controversies in animal ethics and animal protection (with a focus on the welfare vs. rights debate) in order to advance animal protection. Other research interests concern all kind of animal ethics and welfare issues, such as the 'Disneyisation' of zoos, the objectification and anthropomorphism of animals in the media, and vegetarian and vegan diets for companion animals.
