Introduction
I aspire to be a medical researcher who holds expertise in genetics and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases. My main concern and interest which is an intersection of those two fields is the ever-emerging antimicrobial resistance.

Background Haemophilus influenzae causes life-threatening invasive diseases such as septicaemia and meningitis. Reports on circulating H. influenzae causing invasive disease in lower-middle income settings, including Indonesia, are lacking. This study describes the serotype distributions and whole-genome sequence (WGS) data of H. influenzae isolate...

Haemophilus influenzae is part of the human nasopharyngeal microbiota and a pathogen causing invasive disease. The extensive genetic diversity observed in H. influenzae necessitates discriminatory analytical approaches to evaluate its population structure. This study developed a core genome multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST) scheme for H. influenz...

Haemophilus influenzae is part of the human nasopharyngeal microbiota and a pathogen causing invasive disease. The extensive genetic diversity observed in H. influenzae necessitates discriminatory analytical approaches to evaluate its population structure. This study developed a core genome MLST (cgMLST) scheme for H. influenzae using pangenome ana...

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic severely affected Southeast Asia, with >35 million cases and ~360,000 deaths. Despite relatively low rates of secondary bacterial infection among inpatients with COVID-19, several countries reported increased antibiotic use; raising concerns for worsening antimicrobial resistance. We asse...

The Haemophilus influenzae serotype b (Hib) conjugate vaccine routine immunization programme has been implemented for almost a decade; however, there is limited surveillance of H. influenzae carriage rates in the Indonesian population. H. influenzae was isolated from nasopharyngeal (NP) swab specimens of healthy children on Lombok Island, West Nusa...

The Haemophilus influenzae serotype b (Hib) conjugate vaccine routine immunisation program has been implemented for almost a decade; however, there is limited surveillance of H. influenzae carriage rates in the Indonesian population. H. influenzae was isolated from nasopharyngeal (NP) swab specimens of healthy children on Lombok Island, West Nusa T...

The Haemophilus influenzae serotype b (Hib) conjugate vaccine routine immunization program has been implemented for almost a decade, but there is a limited surveillance of H. influenzae carriage in Indonesia. H. influenzae was isolated from nasopharyngeal swab specimens from healthy children in Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia in 2018-2...

Late-stage breast cancer usually presents with locally advanced disease, with or without metastasis. The primary tumor is typically large with skin infiltration which affects quality of life. Surgical resection will result in an extensive defect which potentially deteriorates patients' quality of life if not properly managed. Keystone perforator is...

Background With the rise in working-age population, there has been notable economic growth in Indonesia. Along with it, there is an increase in expenditure for non-food items such as health-care service, without exception to plastic surgery practice. Aesthetic plastic surgery practice has gained its popularity in several other developing countries...

Introduction: Orofacial cleft (OFC) is a congenital malformation involving the craniofacial area and the risk of OFC is greatest in Asians. The non-syndromic clefts resulted from an interaction between genetic and environmental factors, one of which is dietary intake. Previous studies showed that pre-pregnancy obesity increases the risk of certain...

According to National Health Database (Riset Kesehatan Dasar) in 2013, the prevalence of burn cases in Indonesia reached 0.7%. However, the percentage of each burn degree was not detailed further. Meanwhile, based on registry data at Burn Unit Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital, there were 275 cases the majority of which had been caused by fire (...

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease known to be highly responsive to phototherapy. Narrow-band UVB (NBUVB) phototherapy has been one of the standard treatments for its moderate to severe form. However, its lack of efficacy in treating stable psoriatic plaques on extremities has lead researchers to find alternative treatments, one of wh...

Background: Indoor dampness is a condition in which water damage, visible dampness, visible mold growth, and mold odor found in indoor environment. These indicators of high moisture are associated with potentially harmful viable and non-viable constituents such as microorganisms, its produced toxins, and other chemicals. Most of them are dispersed...

The aim of this research is to find whether H. influenzae and S. pyogenes’s growth can be restricted by giving forbazole X. We used the disc diffusion test method suggested by Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CSLI). On the cultures of the two bacterias, we applied alcohol and seven different concentrations of forbazole X using antibiotic di...
