Introduction
Machelle Wilchesky is Director of the Donald Berman Maimonides Centre for Research in Aging in Montreal, Canada. An Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine, McGill University, and Scientist at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, the overarching aim of Machelle 's research program is to improve the clinical nursing and medical care received by frail elderly people with dementia residing in long-term care facilities. She is Principal Investigator of 'The PREvention Program for Alzheimer’s RElated Delirium (PREPARED) Trial'.

This cluster randomized trial aims to demonstrate the efficacy of a multi-component intervention in reducing the incidence, frequency, severity and duration of delirium in cognitively impaired long-term care residents at high risk for delirium.
