Introduction
My research interests are focused on understanding the social-ecological system’s resilience, community and local-led climate change adaptation, community resilience, social learning, environmental disaster management, and sustainable natural resources management. I emphasize understanding complex human-environment interactions through a social-ecological systems approach in the context of a highly globalized and multilevel, changing world.

Bangladesh is as a low-lying country, susceptible to various Sea Level Rise (SLR) induced impacts. Previous studies have separately explored SLR effects on Bangladesh's coastal ecosystems and livelihoods, across multiple spatial and temporal scales. In the face of serious disruptions to local livelihoods and asset bases by extreme climatic events, it is paramount to reconstruct but also to transform and diversify livelihoods. In this study, we posit that in determining the underpinnings and attributes of community resilience to disaster-shocks, an analysis of actual and potential disaster victims' emic perspectives, that is the views of cultural insiders , on recovery processes and community resilience is crucial. The discourse of disaster management has undergone significant change in recent years, shifting from relief and response to disaster risk reduction (DRR) and community-based management. We argue that success in such initiatives cannot be achieved without compliance with good governance cri...

People in developing countries traditionally rely on plants for their primary healthcare.
