Introduction
I am exploring the phenomenon of the „age of manuscripts”, a 17th century „manuscript turn” in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. I am working on incorporating the methods of textual genetics into the studies of early modern manuscripts hoping this will enable a better understanding of what constitutes the specificity of manuscript culture in that time and how exactly the process of textual creation was carried out.
