I am researching in the field of plastic packaging and sustainable consumption and interested in recent developments in the research field due to the current Corona pandemic. How is the perception and role of plastic packaging changing in light of the current challenges and regulations? How is Corona influencing the zero waste movement and the upcoming of packaging free stores? Is their a backklash do more waste intensive practices? Are their windows of opportunity for a sustainable transformation towards waste reduction? Do you know about any publications/articles dealing with such questions? Do you have any suggestions about the direction of developments and interesting research questions?

Im Forschungsprojekt PendelLabor wird erforscht, wie das Pendeln zwischen Stadt und Region unter Einbeziehung der sich aktuell stark verändernden gesellschaftlichen und technologischen Rahmenbedingungen verträglicher gestaltet werden kann.
What kind of food is consumed and where and how it is grown has significant consequences for both human and planetary health. With the PlaNE project, we aim to develop practical approaches to help municipalities integrate the planetary health approach into their own strategies for sustainable transformation of local food systems.
The summer school “Brilliant Minds for Social-Ecological Transformations” will address the challenges of working in a transdisciplinary way within the context of a disciplinary PhD-program. In order to be able to address these challenges, you will be offered the opportunity to gain insights into the theoretical foundations of transdisciplinary (TD) research principles, methods and design elements and get practical experience via hands-on training. Special attention will be given to knowledge integration as this is the major cognitive challenge in transdisciplinary research. Additionally, new TD ap-proaches like Real-World Laboratories or Sustainable Living Labs will be introduced. Exchanging experiences between you, as young scientists, and leading international senior researchers will be the main focus in lectures, workshops and open spaces.
