Introduction
My current proyect is about the functional biodiversity in the agropecosystems designs, mainly the functional types of complex culture systems and the production system functional matrix. In relation with this subject, the principal objetives are: pest autorregulation capacity and climatic change adaptation.

Various documents show that the design and management of agroecosystems, according
to the principles of agroecology and the functions of biodiversity, facilitates the transition
to sustainable food. Experiences in the participation of projects advised and facilitated in
family farming systems allowed us to consider that humans, who for many year...
There is a need to transit towards sustainability in the production and use of bio products. To contribute to this, the agroecological transition is addressed in the development of microbiological products. It focuses on the importance of the decentralization of bio products towards local food systems. It is argued that the sustainable development...
Phytotherapy is among the main applications of traditional natural medicine. Various plants are grown in agroecological family and community gardens, whose use by the peoples for the treatment of symptoms and diseases is a common practice. Family and community self-management of medicinal plants, integrated into primary care services, contributes t...
The integration of bioproducts during the agroecological transition towards sustainable production should not be carried out as a single substitution of chemical inputs for biological ones. Bioproducts made up of microorganisms, whether for the nutrition, growth or health of crops, need the cultivation system to be an appropriate habitat for the fu...
Biosafety is addressed from different socioeconomic sectors. The agroecological transition towards sustainable food requires holistic self-management of biosecurity, considering primary and post-production of food, complementary services and the population's attitude towards food. Agroecological self-regulation and participatory self-management of...
To facilitate various ecosystem services, the agroecological transition for the construction of sustainable food systems requires the mainstreaming of biodiversity in territorial planning or bio-planning. The facilitation of functional interactions of biodiversity in and between Natural Ecosystems (NE), Agroecosystems (AE) and Urban Ecosystems (UE)...
Functional biodiversity is a determining factor in the agroecological transformation towards sustainable food systems. The agroecological design and management of productive, associated and auxiliary biodiversity accumulates agroecological self-regulation capacities from the primary production process to food ingestion.
With the rise of Agroecology, a dynamic of participatory research is occurring that influences the reconfiguration of food attributes. The route of Agroecology at the scale of the local food system converges on high security and sovereignty in food management, which influences personal and social perception regarding sustainable food.
The conservation of biodiversity and the generation of ecosystem services constitute strategies that has been promoted and executed by the institutions that manage ecological systems, which are also being assumed by the governance of socioeconomic systems. The design and appropriate integration of Auxiliary Vegetation Structures (AVS), as semi-natu...
Regulations and surveillance of health risks are addressed by different socio-economic
sectors. The governance of biosecurity during the agroecological transition towards
sustainable food has as its scope primary food production, complementary services,
post-production of food and feeding by the population. Agroecological self-regulation,
self-...

Biotechnology has the potential to play a significant role in developing more productive and nutritious crops. However, at the same time, it is essential to ensure that these technologies are developed in a responsible manner and that their benefits are distributed equitably across communities and regions. Biotechnology has the potential to play a...

The original human populations lived in communities, where they coexisted in a feeding system integrated into the natural habitat. With social development, they were regrouped into urban (towns and cities), periurban and rural socioecosystems. These characteristics have contributed to the fact that today's society is made up of population conglomer...

It is driven by social movements that have succeeded in forming coalitions that have promoted its integration into public policies. These policies involve a range of instruments that are often embedded in programs that also support organic agriculture and sustai...
To mitigate the movement of non-native organisms with trade, phytosanitary systems have been implemented within and between countries. In some countries such as Cuba, little is known about the within-state plant health system. To facilitate the development of future trade partnership between Cuba and the United States, agencies need to understand t...
