Questions

Question (1)
Question
A knowledge broker is defined by Morgan Meyer, as someone who "sits in between knowledge producers, [such as] scientists … and those who use knowledge, such as policymakers, the general public, or people working in the health domain. Knowledge brokers try to bridge the gap that can exist between those two worlds and build connections.”

Project
It is through a practical cooperation experience between the Universidad del Trabajo del Uruguay (UTU) and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) that we can pinpoint the benefits of providing more elements to several sectors of the population in order, for them, to have more tools for generating more products and services, to promote the conservation and dissemination of culture, and to strengthen the human capacities of institutions that offer Design education. Specifically, the results of the cooperation project “Design, technology and innovation: UTU-UAM Exchange” are shown. This Project benefited from the invitation of the “II Fondo Conjunto de Cooperación México-Uruguay” (2015) submitted by the Agencia Mexicana de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo and the Agencia Uruguaya de Cooperación Internacional. The project includes different Design initiatives aimed at promoting social development and innovation. In order to achieve these aims, exhibitions, seminars, tours and workshops that promoted the exchange of Design knowledge among both countries were organized.
