Introduction
Estudió medicina en la Universidad Complutense. Especialista de Medicina de Familia y Comunitaria, realizó la residencia en Granada en Virgen de las Nieves y en el Centro de Salud de Cartuja. Es Diplomado en Estudios Avanzados en Antropología e Historia de la Ciencia y Máster en Salud Pública y Gestión de Servicios de Salud por la Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública, ambos de la Universidad de Granada. Fué coordinador de la Reforma de la Atención Primaria de Granada desde el 1982. Participó en iniciativas piloto de Atención Primaria como médico rural y como médico de familia. Vocal de la Comisión Nacional de la Especialidad de MFyC durante los años 80 y 90. Responsable de Investigación de la Sociedad Española de MFyC, miembro del PACAP y Director de la Revista “Comunidad” durante 10 años.
