The project is funded by the PO FEAMP 2014/2020 (European Maritime and Fisheries Fund), Measure 1.39. The goal of the project was to make available an experimental protocol capable of evaluating the selective effectiveness of less impacting equipment. In addition, the results of the project will be of help to a navy notoriously very sensitive to the issues of environmental protection and the clam resource, closely linked to the combination of conscious management and resource protection.
The goal of the project is to develop easy-to-use technological tools that support farmer in scheduling of daily activities (in particular the collection of the product) to optimize and make production more sustainable, avoiding product losses and reducing costs, including environmental ones.
The work will: ii) develop and apply microplastic extraction protocols for muscle and gastro-intestinal tract of fish and for aquatic environmet; ii) study the role of MPs as microbiological carrier and as contaminant on zooplankton.
