Large-scale Text-to-image Generative Models (LTGMs) are a cutting-edge class of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms specifically designed to generate images from natural language descriptions (prompts). These models have demonstrated impressive capabilities in creating high-quality images from a wide range of inputs, making them powerful tools...
Large-scale Text Generative Models known as DALL-E and Stable Diffusion offer incredible opportunities to improve and enhance the creation and manipulation of design communication through images. The toolkit developed by the author shows how to integrate the LTGMs technology introduced by the OpenAI and StabilityAI platforms into the creative desig...
The essay explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of architecture, focusing on the recent advances in Diffusion Models (DM), a type of generative AI that can produce realistic and coherent images from textual descriptions. The author illustrates how DM can be integrated into the design workflow, enabling architects to cr...
This article explores i-Mesh, an innovative technical fabric for architecture that embodies the principles of "Soft Architecture". Developed through marine and aerospace research, i-Mesh is a sustainable, customizable non-woven textile using high-performance fibers. Its unique production process, based on Industry 4.0 techniques and computational d...
We present a novel workflow where non-rectangular floor plans (NRFPs), namely plans with at least one concave corner, are self-generated using a model that directly encodes key optimisation factors on spatial quality and energy consumption, with non-rectangular building envelopes. The modelling considers a number of key factors including architectu...
The Envi-Meter v1.0 is an innovative IoT device designed for environmental data mining in architectural and design contexts. Developed by LA Consultancy, this portable sensor array collects crucial environmental data including temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, illuminance, visible light, infrared, and UV index. Utilizing cloud integration...
Design is understood today as a specific methodological path activated by several actors and at the same time digitally mediated. This path is characterized by a growing cultural awareness that is shaping around the axis data-digital-design (D³). Along this axis, the contemporary paradigm shift in architectural design and product design manifests i...
The design paradigm-shift towards a procedural status is the result of design, becoming structurally defined by the dynamic behaviours of the users and by the endogenous and exogenous environmental features of the architectural project. Systematizing these peculiarities is the prerogative of computational thinking as it is capable of coding them in...

Digital project production and decision-making processes. "Flexible" design in the Age of Scripting and Building Information Modeling as a new technological paradigm
Abstract (small)
The Research work aims to tackle in experimental and innovative terms ("flexible" approach) the technological design and the process design throu...

The spread of digital technologies, aimed at improving the effectiveness of the technological and environmental project proposals, has transformed the modus operandi of architects and designers who approach environmental impact assessment, especially about public space designs. Research activities aim to collect any guideline aimed to the sustainab...
The purpose of this study makes available the management of analysis data obtained from micro-climatic simulations of the open space, from ENVI-met 3.1 beta 5 software, into GIS systems in order to visualize and obtain the geo-referenced mapping
of environmental conditions and the characteristics of outdoor comfort perception. For this purpose the...
Methodology to design climate adaptive urban spaces through a parametric and data design approach.
The summary of this master's thesis was reported in this paper: "Parametric environmental climate-adaptive design". In "Renew the Urban Space" you can find the effective and original workflow with all parametric tools involved in this research field as a paradigm shift ---> You can find the ebook on my website <---
