Introduction
I have a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Paraná. Currently, I'm working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Idaho on a project for the USGS. During my PhD studies, I worked in Hydrology, focusing on evapotranspiration estimates and measurement, especially by the Eddy Covariance method. I'm also interested in the water budget in watersheds using remote sensing, such as the GRACE measurements. I also like to work with field measurements.

The understanding of the water budget components, especially evapotranspiration and the amount of water stored in the watershed, is key to water resources management and hydrological modeling in general. In this work, we present the analysis of 13 hydrological years’ measurements of discharge, precipitation, evapotranspiration, and soil moisture ov...

A mass transfer evaporation model is proposed that uses MODIS water surface temperature data and land‐based meteorological data, and employs a new approach to calibrate the transfer coefficient via closure of the long‐term energy budget of the lake. Some of the longstanding issues of developing and applying lake evaporation models are reviewed, inc...

Practically all records of eddy‐covariance flux measurements are affected by gaps, caused by several reasons. In this work, we propose analog period (AP) methods for gap‐filling, and test them for filling gaps of latent heat flux at AmeriFlux sites. The essence of the methods is to look for periods in the record that bear a strong resemblance, in t...

In this work we present results from an intercomparison study between two CS500 temperature-relative humidity sensors and a brand new sonic anemometer/gas analyzer (Campbell Scientific Instruments – CSI IRGASON). The objective of the intercomparison was an upcoming micrometeorological experiment. For the intercomparison, all sensors were positioned...

Gravity currents are a common phenomenon that occurs in ocean, lakes, and atmosphere. Many studies have explored the propagation of gravity currents in ideal situations, thus avoiding the comparison between the well-known theory and specific situations, such as when the gravity current flows in a roughness bottom or in a stratified ambient. This pa...

Micrometeorology monitoring has been used in reservoirs for latent heat flux measurements by eddy covariance. It is hard to establish long and continuous measurement datasets due to the complexity involved in this monitoring. When fails occur there is necessary a gap filling procedure to keep the continuity of the series. This filling could be perf...
