Project
Objective of the project is restoration and status improvement of wetlands and of particular alluvial forests (3150, 91FO, *91EO) via water regime improvement of National Nature Reserve (NNR) Klátovské rameno and via management of biotopes of alluvial forests. Thus the water quality of eutrophic and mesotrophic water will be improved too. Further objective is to assure sustainable management of degradated wetland biotopes. Except of improvement of environment, microclimate of area will be enhanced and also the living quality of inhabitants of surrounding municipalities including recreational potential of locality will be improved. General public and mainly Youth of municipalities will be engaged into NNR preservation and their behaviour will be changed. Sustainable management will be assured in close cooperation with responsible authority State Nature Conservancy (CHKO Ponitrie a Dunajské luhy). Expected results of project will be the improved status of water quality in the Klátovské rameno itself, the state of adjacent wetlands and wetland habitats of soft and hard alluvial forests (91FO, *91EO) as well as eutrophic and mesotrophic stagnant water habitats (3150) and improved living conditions and thus the condition of protected species in locality Klátovské rameno. It is expected to restore at least 150000 m2 of wetland area. The results of 1 water management-environmental study and of 1 landscape-ecological study/analysis will serve as a basis for updating the Klátovské rameno NNR Management Plan (draft 2002) and to propose sustainable management of locality.
