Introduction
I am working towards a PhD at the University of Bristol and the University of Exeter funded by the GW4 Biomed MRC DTP. The aim of my research is to simultaneously include information on both health and broader wellbeing benefits in economic evaluations of health and care interventions so that this can be used to aid value for money decision-making.

Purpose
A paper reporting the development of the ICECAP-O was published in 2006. Since then, there has been increasing interest in the use of capability-based measures within health economics and the ICECAP-O has been suggested for use in economic evaluation by decision-making bodies in the Netherlands and UK.
